Zulfikar Causer qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in Toronto, Canada in 2005 and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and the Canadian Institute of Charered Accountants. He is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He is also completed the Canadian Securities Course and Derivative Fundamentals Course as part of the Derivatives Market Specialist designation.

During his tenure at Ernst & Young, Zulfikar’s primary focus was in providing assurance services to large publicly traded corporations. He was primarily involved in the Resources, Manufacturing and Distribution sector with a focus on clients in the energy and real estate sectors. Advisory services experience includes work completed for a Fortune 500 corporation in assisting their Internal Audit group with their financial statement close process. He was also part of the Human Capital group as a tax staff member responsible for tax compliance and tax planning services.


Zulfikar joined BDO Ebrahim & Co. in 2005 as Manager Audit & Specialist Advisory Services and has been leading assurance and advisory teams in several client sector including financial services, manufacturing and not for profit. Advisory services experience includes developing internal control manuals and risk advisory services for several leading financial institutions in Pakistan. He was promoted to Senior Manager in 2007 and a Partner in 2009 in the Audit and Specialist Advisory Services practice area.


Zulfikar plays an active role in the training and development of the Firm’s professional staff. In this capacity he has attended several training courses of BDO International held in Bangkok and Singapore on Risk, Controls, Integrated Audits, Compass 3 and S404 compliance. He has attended the Accounting and Auditing Committee’s EMEA conference held in Rome in 2008, the Firm’s New Partner’s Conference held in Paris in mid June 2009 and Annual Conferences of BDO International in Hamburg, Germany.
